Pivot 25 has arrived!!
With Pivot25 only a day away, the excitement is really starting to build here in Nairobi. The finalists submitted their final pitch decks and have been through intense rehersalst, and we are really impressed with what they have brought to the table. We have a few exciting things we’d like to share with you here before Pivot25.
It seems like every day a new investor or member of the media contacts us sharing how much they’re looking forward to the event. This is great for Pivot25, but even better for the finalists. The sole motive behind this event was to give the top-tier mobile developers and innovators of East Africa a platform from which to launch their work. We saw the potential in our region, and we wanted to give all this potential energy a place to go; a place to take off from – a place to begin a path of success. For some, that success lies in simply the exposure they’ll get by launching at Pivot25, while others are seeking hundreds of thousands of dollars of Seed or Series-A Funding that they need to take themselves to the next level. No matter what defines ‘Success’ for each finalists, the more media exposure and investors in attendance, the better, and we’re delighted to be able to provide it to them at such a high level.
In addition, Pivot25 is excited to have 26 world-class speakers joining us over the course of the two days. Just a few of the more notable speakers joining us are PS Dr. Ndemo; Dr. James Mwangi, CEO of Equity Bank; and Ken Oyolla, GM of Nokia Africa. These 26 speakers will be joining us in different ‘Fireside Chats’, hosted by NTV Business Anchor, Larry Madowo. Each of these Fireside Chats will be centered around a different topic, from ‘The State of Venture Capital and the African Startup’ to ‘The Role of Women in ICT.’ The informal setting, paired with the combination of so many great leaders on stage at once, should prove to be a very interesting and exciting experience.
Two days of the greatest platform Mobile Developers in East Africa have been given to showcase their work. 5 Categories, 25 Companies, 1 Winner…….. Will you witness the future of Mobile Development in East Africa?
